My GF Flor and I gave her food one or two times before she earned her name. After the day this story happened, she earned her name: "Pilla" (Rascal, in English).
I swear she´s real. I have tons of pics and some videos to prove it. The following story is real too.
I didnt draw Pilla because it seemed funnier to use a clipping of her pictures. This is her, about a week before the "Pilla vs taco" story occurred.
So, Flor and I were sitting in the grass when the squirrel came along. Squirrels always seem cute to us, so we made cute noises seeing her. We were having lunch (i omitted stuff from the drawing and just kept the really important things).
I've always been partial to sharing my food with animals, so it seemed right to share something with her. Since my tacos had CHICKEN in them, and a lot of hot spicy sauce, the option left was popcorn.
Oddly enough, squirrel did not like the popcorn. Instead she came closer to us to inspect and demand something more suitable for her needs.
And just as i was thinking she must smell the spicy sauce and would not want to eat that, she...
She snatched the taco right off my plate and ran away with it!!!! I immediately burst out laughing, so did Flor, and so did 3 girls nearby who were witnesses to the robbery.
Then the squirrel stopped a couple yards away, you know, pit stop...
And ran away hurriedly again with her captured taco now properly placed in her mouth.
And that's how she earned her name, Rascal. I mean, she stole a WHOLE taco!!! (Not the kind you get at taco bell, a real mexican "Taco dorado", fried taco.)
Since then, her name was Pilla. There were several encounters with her afterwards, though none as monumental as that name-earning encounter.
